Chamber Choir Performs for Grand Club Dinner
A Special December Performance
Each year, the Lutheran High School Association recognizes its “Grand Club” members with a very special dinner and, each year, the choir of one of the Association’s three schools starts off the evening’s program with a brief performance. This year, the Lutheran Northwest Chamber Choir had its turn, and they did an awesome job! Held at the Detroit Athletic Club on Monday evening, December 10, this event came in the midst of an already busy season of Christmas preparations and other choir performances (including their annual Christmas Concert just one week before), not to mention approaching final exams. In spite of all of that, the Crusaders were unfazed and their performance was lovely!
Director Paul vonKampen shared with the audience that, the last time that Lutheran Northwest performed for the Grand Club Dinner, he was brand new to the school and felt a bit intimidated. Now a veteran, Mr. vonKampen was obviously very comfortable as he skillfully led the choir in several pieces and then directed the whole room in a Christmas carol sing-along. The music that our students and Mr. vonKampen provided was an extra-special part of a special evening!
