Anna Leidecker

Lutheran Northwest

Class of 2022

For National Lutheran Schools Week, Lutheran Northwest is highlighting some of the amazing Lutheran elementary schools with which we are blessed to partner in ministry.

One of those schools is St. Peter’s Lutheran in Eastpointe. We caught up with Junior Anna Leidecker (‘22), a St. Peter’s Eastpointe alum, to learn first-hand about her experiences at St. Peter’s and at Lutheran Northwest.

What is your favorite memory from grade school?

My favorite memory would have to be my class’s trip to Frankenmuth in 8th grade. It was a lot of fun.

Which teacher or coach from St. Peter’s made the biggest impact on your grade school experience?

This one is obvious. My mom definitely made the biggest impact. She was my 6th grade teacher. While being my teacher, she still managed to treat me like everyone else and act as my mother at the same time. She encouraged me to want to do better with my schoolwork, and still does today.

Which teacher or coach from Lutheran Northwest has made the biggest impact on your high school experience?

This one is 100% Mr. Weber. He has been both my teacher (Geometry) and my coach (Cross Country). Freshman year, I started having problems with my knee. This brought me down because it made my first ever cross country season not the best. Mr. Weber, however, was always positive and always wanted to help me to improve every day. This helped me a lot. I still have these knee problems, and Mr. Weber is still as encouraging as ever.

What is your favorite chapel memory from Lutheran Northwest?

My favorite chapel actually happened not too long ago. Mr. Topel did a chapel where he had Jimmy Wilson put on a blindfold and eat the different ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. It was really funny.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, Anna!

God’s Blessings, St. Peter’s Eastpointe!
