No-Shave Movember at Lutheran Northwest

The results are in!

In a fun and different contest, the Crusaders of Lutheran Northwest have raised nearly $900 to be donated to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to research, education, outreach and advocacy in the fight against cancer.

At the beginning of November, 20 boys donated $20 each in order to enter the competition and begin growing their mustaches (which are ordinarily not allowed under school dress code). The pool of contestants was narrowed down to five by a popular vote the week after Thanksgiving. Pictured are the “Final Five”: Sophomore Luke Lanier, Senior Josh Osani, Senior Carter Rohman, Junior JT Honce, and Junior Rocco Russo.

The Final Five and their campaign managers went into fundraising mode for the last two weeks of the contest, as their fellow Crusaders voted for their favorite ‘stache via designated donations. The winner was announced on Monday, December 9: Luke Lanier edged out Josh Osani for first place by a margin of just $3.19 - an exciting finish!

Congratulations to Luke, and a HUGE thank you to the Crusader Nation for all of their donations and to Mr. Ferguson and Student Council for their hard work in organizing and running this awesome fundraiser!
