Senior Spotlight: Eunho Jung

A 4.0+ student at Lutheran Northwest, Eunho Jung is the Lutheran Northwest Class of 2023 Salutatorian. Her future plans include attending Vanderbilt University to study Cello Performance and Biology. Eunho’s home congregation is Korean First Baptist Church of Detroit. She attended St. John Lutheran School in Rochester for grade school.

Eunho participated in National Honor Society while at Lutheran Northwest and is receiving our STEM Biomedical endorsement, our Humanities Endorsement, and our Academy of the Arts Endorsement in Instrumental Music. At our recent Honors Convocation, Eunho was recognized by the faculty of Lutheran Northwest with the Mathematics Department Award and the Band Department Award. Eunho was also recognized by the Advanced Placement Program as an AP Scholar with Honor.

Eunho has played cello in the Lutheran Northwest Concert Band for four years and has earned a spot in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association All-State Orchestra each year. She qualified for the MSBOA 2022 State Competiton and was nominated for MSBOA Spring Honors Festival Honors Band. Eunho has attended the prestigious Center Stage Strings camp at The University of Michigan. Her many musical accomplishments also include 1st place in the String Category in Michigan in the Opus Music Competition, 1st place in the Oakland Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition in 11th grade and 3rd place in 10th grade, and a finalist standing in the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition in both 9th and 12th grade. Eunho has been Co-Principal Cellist with the Oakland Youth Symphony Orchestra for the past four years.

In addition to all these achievements, Eunho was a member of our Leadership cohort, played Varsity Tennis for four years and has been involved in our Student Council.

Eunho was a 2020 recipient of the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award at the Gold level.
